How this dumpy piece of land rates 4.0 is beyond me. I live literally right on top of this so called park. This is not a park! It is a piece of open land that has cages for the KPD to train dogs (which they never seem to do) and serves as a trailhead for a popular greenway system. It is DANGEROUS in the evenings, shady characters use it to sell their drugs. Teenagers planning trouble do it there away from prying eyes. It is NOT a destination for children by any means. The city once promised us a Park at this location but they lied and put the money into the spanking new park on the other end of town. Don't go here - if you do, watch your back.
Not really much here but some dumpy basketball courts and they built a police dog training course (not open for public use). It is the head of the Mingo Creek trail, which is very nice, but they could do a lot more with this area.
Rode my bike from here over 10 times and never had a problem. Met some nice people.
Great place to walk. Access from Parkside Commons has the police K9 training park and two basketball courts. Beautiful and peaceful. Plenty of parking.
