It is a great place to get fresh local food from farms around North Carolina. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Their prices are reasonable.
For awhile they were doing good keeping their salad bar stocked with eggs and greens and most toppings when I went in around 6pm during the week but lately it’s gone down hill. I’ve been in recently where they were out of greens (lettuce, spinach and spring mix) and they have started being out of egg again as well as some other things such as sunflower seeds.
Good prices and clean, with pretty good produce as well. No butcher though, and a smaller selection than some other stores for fresh meats and bakery items. A great store for the staples though, and we frequent it.
The proprietors are both super nice and very into their craft. Their space is super clean and well decorated. Oh, and the rum is very tasty as well!
I like Lowe's foods as a place to shop. For those unfamiliar with them, I would add. When they advertise specials they are usually pretty good and occasionally VERY GOOD. Their overall price structure though is much higher on every day items than other local grocery stores. So I am selective about what I purchase from them. The checkout people are usually friendly. Sometimes the people who work on the floor are NOT very customer friendly. They go about their business stocking shelves blocking aisle ways being reluctant to move when you are trying to shop. Occasionally being a little rude when asked questions. I asked one produce guy about a special when the price wasn't marked on the shelf he told me to read my flyer. Same one who blocks the shopping aisle.
